Fox Dance
So I was bored and decided to “Mac out” my other laptop thanks to a link provided by David. It’s kind of cool how tweaked out WinXP becomes after installing FlyakiteOSX. Probably one of the cooler things are all the system icons (including system tray) are changed; it even got me to change my standard battery icon on my 700m to the mac like ones!
Of course with a new theme/skin, I’ll change the wallpaper too. Don’t ask where I got it since I don’t remember but odds are you can google the artist and find it
(Brownie points to whomever can name the four hentai games I have on my desktop)

Random Otaku’s Fault

Lovely title isn’t it? Don’t worry, there is a rhyme and reason behind it as I’ll soon explain.
I somehow through events beyond my control (not really) ended up going to Chinatown with Waisoon. Boy was it ever fun getting up at 6:45am to go down around 7:30am! Ate dim sum at his dad’s restaurant as usual… Waisoon also paying for it as usual too. We walked around to burn off breakfast but since it was only 10am and we had plenty of time to kill before meeting up with Jan and Wai’s 1:30pm doctor’s appointment, crashed at his NY apartment for a few hours.
Through good luck and double checking directions, met up with Jan and one of his classmates at 22nd and 6th to do a lite lunch nearby which consisted of us just getting fruit smoothies. Wai had to get going soon but needed to drop by BestBuy to pick up a new remote. As we were looking around, Jan found out his professor suddenly got sick (heat stroke probably) and called off the rest of class for the day. What luck right?
Jan now free, himself and I headed off to Book-off on E 41st between 5th & Madison with his classmate tagging along (and giving us directions) while Wai went back to Chinatown for his doc appointment. After spending an hour at Book-off, where Jan’s classmate left to do other things, I was $67 more poor. I was hoping to find Mai-HiME v1 & 4 and Air Gear v10 but no luck. Instead I picked up Girls Saurus v1-2 ($3 & $1), Vulgar Ghost Daydream v1-2 ($4.50 each), Tsukihime v1 ($4.50), Sentimental Graffiti Image Artbook ($14), and Tsukihime Prologue DVD ($30). Looking through the stuff, I was a bit disappointed with the Sentimental Graffiti artbook since I’ve already seen all the art though it’ll be nice to have them in physical form. I don’t know what to say about the mangas I picked up other than I already have them scanlated but once again, nice to have in my hands; especially the beautiful artwork of VGD. And as for the Tsukihime DVD… that and the artbook were definite impulse buys… the TYPE-MOON artwork drew me in…
Crying tears over my new purchases, Jan and I headed back to Chinatown to meet up with Waisoon and got some Malaysian 7-rainbow dessert thingie. It’s pretty frickin’ good especially since it’s only $2 and surprisingly the corn in it makes it work so well. After dessert, hit Elizabeth Center where I promised Random Otaku from the animeblogger.net forums I’ll try to pick up a MegaHouse Lunamaria figure for him. Too bad the store that originally had 5+ boxes of each MegaHouse figure didn’t have any left. Felt kind of disappointed at this point that I let the guy down but then I remembered there was another store two feet away. Surprise surprise as this store had them! Exactly one Lunamaria figure left to boot! I picked that up ASAP and thought that would be it. A few seconds later I gave in again and picked up a GSD and HoiHoi figure for $10 each, but then the owner said the GSD ones are 2 for $15… and yea… another $25 spent on three small figures!
Yet another bout of tears later, the three of us went back to Wai’s apartment to crash until dinner with his dad and younger sister. There I looked through all the crap I bought and opened up the figures box to see which I got. On the HoiHoi-san front, picked Combat-san while for Gundam SEED Destiny I got Aisha and Meyrin! Not bad not bad. The figures themselves aren’t too bad looking and one has got to love the Meryin sitting pose
Dinner was great as we went to a nearby Malaysian restaurant and had a lot of kick ass food. Too bad I don’t remember any of their names but it was all good. Wai’s dad also treated us! Man, the Chan family’s way too kind…
… and that’s my day in a nutshell. Came home $90 more in debt plus a lot of random stuff I had to get done online. joy. Oh yea, as for the title entry I’ll like to blame Random Otaku since if he never asked me to pick up the Lunamaria figure I might have just said no to going to NY today. Or at least not have picked up those three figures at Elizabeth Center…

Family Bonding
I think there’s definitely something wrong with your family when it’s 2am and you find out your mother and younger brother have been playing with matches.
… I don’t know whether to shake my head over my family’s uniqueness or thank god that neither of the two accidentally started a serious fire. _| ̄|○

Weekend, what weekend?
What a weekend. I thought I was just going to be doing the usual bum around, watch anime, and blog but ended up spending the majority of the time sleeping and chilling with Matt and Jan. Here’s a small tale from the life of a 20-something asian man:
Saturday. I was really only looking forward to the newest Gundam SEED Destiny and Da Capo Second Season epsiodes, however pitiful that might sound. I never played to do anything the past weekend, but to my surprise ended up going out for a once. Maybe my first clue should have been the delivery of my Stellar figure. Perhaps the fact I got up at like 4am (I think?) was another clue. I think, however, Matt calling when he’s suppose to be in Jersey City training for work probably was the biggest tip that I’d be getting off my lazy arse.
Anyway, the man was bored and wanted to watch a movie. Since it was going to be like his next to last weekend until he fully entered the workforce, thereby losing all freedom Matt wanted to chill. I was fine with it considering I have no social life and the movie he wanted to watch was Wedding Crashers. Figuring that Jan would probably want in on the fun, we decided to watch it late at night since Jan was going to be at work until evening. Matt asked if I wanted to go to Subway to get food and see how Jan was doing, and even though I’ve already eaten I was game. I figured I had a good hour or two before Matt would get back from Jersey City, go home, etc etc considering this is Matt afterall. To my surprise, the bastard was at my place a lot earlier than I thought; interrupting my last five minutes of GSD too!
The two of headed off to the cleaners real quick since he had to pick up his suit and then we were off to Subway. Jan’s look of “OMG, can’t believe those idiots are here AGAIN” said it all. Unlike yesterday where the sub Jan made me like fell apart, the one he made this time was fine. Matt and I enjoyed the fact Jan Tan was actually making us food for once; something that’ll never happen outside the payment of money. So with sub made, Matt and I ate… and you would think we’ll be chilling back and talking to Jan once in awhile but you know what? We got harassed instead! By Jan! Since it was pretty much dead at Subway and his co-workers are cool, Jan kept bugging us if we wanted more food… of course we’ll have to pay. One way or another, Jan won Matt over getting him to buy a cookie! Poor Matt for being so weak-willed against Jan’s “great” salemanship.
One foot-long and six-inch subs later, Matt and I left to the golfing range. I never cared for golf much but it was something to do. We killed about an hour or so hitting balls as Matt tried to teach me the basics. Too bad my non-fit body doesn’t mix well with any physical activities ^_^;;
After golf, ended up just chilling at Matt’s house until Jan was off work. Funny how we got totally engrossed in Lord of the Rings: Return of the King PS2 game spending a good 3+ hours on it. It was pretty fun to play plus playing on a widescreen plasma (I think) TV made it all the more better. We only stopped to eat dinner with his family and stopped stop when we had to go. I’ll also remember this one part of the game where we had to keep re-playing over and over again until we gave up and looked up a walkthrough guide… all I have to say is how the heck we were suppose to know there’s a path there!?
Movie time. Made it with plenty of time to watch Wedding Crashers with only one small problem. Jan doesn’t drive so for some reason he had to give up his driver’s license. Not a problem on a daily basis but going to R-rated movies when he looks younger than 18 and they check is a pain in the arse! Thankfully since the rest of us (well I guess in this case Matt and myself) are 22, we could still get Jan in. At least the movie only costed $7 since the theater we went to does student discount even on the weekend! For the movie itself, all three of us thought it was really hilarious. I personally didn’t know what to expect but it was all good. A definite must see for comedy fans if one hasn’t watched it yet!
So that was Saturday. Somewhat eventful, at least for me but I ended up screwing over blogging and watching anime as I pretty much crashed as soon as I got home. Next thing I knew it was Sunday like 9am, I think. I killed a few hours up downloading the newest anime releases, checking blogs, etc etc. Watched some of the anime I downloaded and decided to take a nap before trying to anime blog. Once again, next thing I knew it was like 8pm and I somehow slept 3-4 hours! Ended up just watching TV (newest Family Guy wasn’t bad) and some anime (Paniponi Dash 4, My Wife is a Magical Girl 4, and Family Guy: Stewie Griffin Untold Story).
I think after all that watching, I got into trying to re-”pimp” my desktop and found out about Avedesk. Fooled around with that program for awhile until I turned in for the night around 5am.
… and today, got up at like 9am and been up ever since. @_@
