Weapon wielding girls are HOT

To my surprise my CDJapan order arrived today, which were the Mai-HiMe Fan Disc and Shakugan no Shana - Prelude to Shana DVDs. I’ll have a long entry about the Mai-HiME Fan Disc up later, but much to say it’s pretty entertaining to watch. Shakugan no Shana was short and sweet with just a trailer and two short interviews with the male and female leads’ seiyuus. Now I at least know what Rie Kugimiya finally looks like!

BTW, for better scans of the Shakugan no Shana postcards, check over at beerman’s.

Mother Nature as Storage

I guess it was a good thing today that I received the $6 shelving unit I got off of geeks.com considering all the recent purchases I’ve made.

On the DVD front I have Shakugan no Shana - Prelude to Shana ($10), Mai-HiME Fandisc ($30), Chrno Crusades V1+Box ($10), and Kino’s Journey V1+Box ($10) arriving in a few weeks with Fate/Stay Night Prologue ($30) on preorder for the late November release. I only have TRSI to partially blame for the CC and Kino’s Journey purchases; it was too much of a good offer to pass up on especially for artboxes.

The printed material side I recently got Robots Vol 1 ($17) which is a collection of short doujins by some famous mangakas. A must buy for any anime fan is all I can say! I also won two YAJ (Yahoo Auctions Japan) items, Taka Tony’s Runar (GSD parody $21) and Caladbolg (Fate/Stay Night parody $20). Both are ero-ero doujinshi but his style is pretty good. I only wished I knew about the guy beforehand and of the various deputy services so I could have gotten my hands on his works a bit sooner and at a cheaper cost. Unfortunately getting those two doujins set me back about $60-70 after everything is said and done; tis the way of illogical thinking otakus like myself.

The last but definitely not least, the figures. I already mentioned plenty of times but I have MegaHouse’s Lunamaria V2 ($40) and Meer ($40) on preorder. Also have Gundam SEED Heroines #3 ($40 but spliting to cost $20) on preorder, which I’m just hoping to get the one figure I want (Cagalli). There’s a total of eight figures, so chances are decent plus I’m only keeping four while the other four will go to Random Otaku whom I’ve got to go in with me.

Anyway, purchases that will 99% put me in the RED and in the poor house aside, the cheap new shelf I got really helped with displaying some DVD artboxes and artbooks I’ve been dying to do.

Slow and Steady

Weird quiz thanks to Kabitzin.

You Are A: Turtle!

These reptiles, famous for their hard outer shells, spent their days roaming for food and relaxing in the water. As a turtle you are not very speedy, nor are you soft and cuddly. You tend to hide in your shell and you aren’t much of a sprinter, however you are as cute as you are fascinating.

You were almost a: Groundhog or a Kitten
You are least like a: Duck or a Squirrel
