Rainbow-colored HiMEs

Nanairo Ice: Nanao Naru Illustrations and Mai-HiME v1 & v5.

I’ll have a longer entended entry on how I ended up at Kinokuniya in NYC and the “crazy” misadventures had with Matt and Jan sometime later, but for now finally finished getting all the Mai-HiME manga plus scored some Nanao Naru artwork.

The Nano Naru artbook really was an impulse buy after looking through the various anime artbooks Kinokuniya had. I thought I remembered HLJ being out of stock of the artbook when I wanted it, so figured might as well buy it now. Unfortunately when I checked HLJ’s site just now, HLJ still has the book in stock and at a lower price! Argh! Paid $8 more for instant gratification! If I knew this, would have gone for the Aoi Nanse artbook instead!

Oh well, Nanairo Ice is still a lovely buy as I love Nanao Naru’s drawing style. Mostly popular in a lot of dating sim games (almost anything by Leaf), the cute art is always an instant draw for me. I guess it’s also time for me to re-arrange which artbooks I have on display now that I have this baby :)

Must resist the urge to go…..

I always spend some money if I go there. Always reason that since I’m there it would be such a waste if I don’t buy something……

$8 difference is okay IMO. Would you rather have it now or later? ;)

Er… I think Naru Nanao has only done art for Circus and some others, but not Leaf.

hmm… wouldn’t be surprised if I’m wrong. I swear I thought she did TH2, for example, but given my recent track record of naming anything right…

… anyway, thanks OogamiOokami for the correction!

Leaf’s most well known for their Leaf Tokyo branch’s art. Their main illustator is Mitsumi Misato. She was the character designer for well-known titles like Comic Party, To Heart 2, Utawarerumono, and Tenshi no Inai Jyuunigatsu. Her site: http://mitsumi-web.com/

ah… maybe that’s where I got confused. After OogamiOokami mentioned Nanao Naru wasn’t with Leaf, I had a vague thought maybe it was Mitsumi Misato instead.

    my bad my bad :(
