To Heart 2

Hot. I just “acquired” To Heart 2 for the PS2! Dying to play the game after reading bluemist’s To Heart 2 Project and seeing all the wonderful images of the girls starred in it. Also the episode of Comic Party Revolution with Konomi only made me want to play the game even more!

Now to figure out how to play burn-able DVDs and mod the current US PS2 without soldering. =/

EDIT: nevermind, guess I didn’t need to do it as I can play the game on the PC! Started playing July 7th at 6pm… took about 8 straight hours, but got Tamaki’s ending! Right after, started to try for Manaka but didn’t get it even though I had everything going correctly (ended along with Yuji). Not giving up and screwing sleeping normally, decided for the pink hair girl Lucy… Probably took about 6 hours but pulled off getting Lucy’s ending after a few mishaps. Kind of ironic that I got the endings for the two girls I used for the entry pic. Well, time to go at it again for Manaka’s~!

EDIT^2: okay, I think I’ve gotten an total of four endings so far. Tamaki Housaka, Lucy Maria Misora, Yuki Kusakabe, and Yuma Tonami in that order. Tamaki took the longest since it was my first run, totaling 8 hours. Her story wasn’t bad but did sort of play on the childhood friend and promise BS. I did enjoy her “fun” (i.e. trouble for everyone else) and soft sides probably the most out of all the girls so far; her ending had me laughing! Lucy was a bit shorter to do in a surprisingly quick 6 hours that only had one or two bumps in the road. I never expected to date a alien of all things! Also got a kick out of her “be happy I’m here” kind of attitude as she jabbed against Takaki. Yuki’s story… was kind of weird since I couldn’t understand all of it. Took about 2-3 hours and if I had any disappointment, it was the fact her story felt rushed (childhood friend again!) and there was no after-end (unless I didn’t get the True Ending). Finishing off my fourth girl, Yuma’s story was a surprise since I originally was going to do Manaka’s but… yea. Finished in about 4 hours and my only problem was the pre-ending stuff when she went cold on Takaki (didn’t help I couldn’t understand the explanation either). I initially thought she was just a laugh-mouth but her competitive streak and Takaki eventually winning her over changed my mind; add to the fact she looks cute when wearing glasses, Yuma is ranking up there in my opinions of the To Heart 2 characters.

Not bad considering I have zero guides, pre-elementary school level understanding of verbal japanese, and know only like 10 characters (most of them kanji). A lot of saving, reloading, and matching speech to chararacters definitely helped me go through the game as well as I did. Also being able to speed through old stuff (i.e. Tamaki’s arrival) really helped a lot too.

If my current pace keeps up, which it won’t since I’m losing sleep and not anime blogging, I might be able to finish by weekend’s end. Only have Manaka Komaki, the Himeyuri sisters, Konomi Yuzuhara, and Karin Sasamori left to finish. The sisters are going to be hard since I have no clue how to meet them; I was lucky to meet via Lucy’s storyline as is. Debating whether or not I want to do Konomi’s story too since bluemist has already done so… we’ll see. I’ll need to pray to Sakura of Fate/Stay Night for good luck
