Lucky Star

TRSI is easily the place to go when you want to purchase anime in the US online, especially with their 10% off for members, free shipping over $49, and insane weekly studio sales where one can save up to 46% off the retail price. Usually I do 99.9% of all my R1 DVD and occasional manga purchasing from them since one will be hard pressed to beat the prices and quality of service TRSI offers.
This week, my opinion of TRSI just went through the roof after I received a part of my order from their Bandai studio sales a few weeks back.
It’s one thing to expect flyers or a sample DVD/manga of other titles TRSI sells, but to have gotten Full Metal Panic: The 2nd Raid volume 1 DVD (no case, just a simple CD paper slip) for free blew my mind away. At best when I initially looked at the extra crap in the package, I figured it’ll be the first episode to sample ala NewType USA’s DVDs; but after loading the disc one can imagine my surprise and delight that it was the first volume and not episode!
For this, TRSI will forever have hold of my wallet until the day I die.

Whoa
Just a quick entry to say I’m alive and somewhat kicking. Also figured it was time I did a post about something on this blog, however dead it has become.
With that being said, I’ve recently changed to a new wallpaper and visual style over the weekend. I’m 99.9%70% positive the image was drawn by Keiji Goto as it looks like his style, but if I’m wrong let me know. Went with a very simple background, just changing the coloring of the original image to fit the visual style colors a bit better. For the visual style itself, I found the awesome GSM Suite. What really won me over is the foobar skin some kind soul did; it really helps bring the rest of the visual style together since I have foobar opened 24/7/365. Really loving how the playlist is setup as not only can it auto-sort by pre or custom defined groupings, but also shows the album cover image as well (if available). The only down side when I went to this style was the 2+ hours I had to spend formatting all my album art files so it would be shown correctly in foobar. Well worth the effort though, don’t you think?
As an extra bonus, and to prove DiGiKerot wrong, I should mention I changed my laptop’s wallpaper as well to this. It’s unique, if anything else. (Sorry DiGiKerot, in all honesty I only left it on for like 10 minutes and then switched back to a more normal wallpaper. Do know I enjoy your comics very much though!)
