If buying the WestingHouse 37″ Monitor wasn’t enough, this week’s deliveries remind me just how broke I’m going to be this month. Max Factory’s Asahina Mikuru from Haruhi, GSC’s Alice L Marvin from Pumpkin Scissors, GFF 0034 RX-78GP03S Gundam Stamen & Weapon System from Gundam 0083, Kanon v6 LE, and Haruhi v1 LE each bring me one step closer to the tempting alternate life as Phantom Thief Moy…

GSC’s Alice L Marvin from Pumpkin Scissors, GFF 0034 RX-78GP03S Gundam Stamen & Weapon System from Gundam 0083, and Kanon v6 LE. Yes the box for GP03 is ridiculously large for the Cosmic Region/FIX Configuration line. And yes, the box for Alice is ridiculously ugly.

On the DVD content, Shiori fans should rejoice as this is the arc for the lovely underclassman. Pretty much the best (and ending) episode in Shiori’s arc had to be the last one on the disc, episode 18, where Yuuichi gives Shiori the best he possibly could. Very touching and girly-man tears came out while watching the episode again.
… well that and given the roots of the game, I couldn’t help to think at various points in the episodes CG events were being flagged like crazy. Too bad Yuuichi chose the “good friend” route :aorz:
GFF 0034 RX-78GP03S Gundam Stamen & Weapon System from Gundam 0083. The idea of where I got this post title from as the cannon can definitely cause a 1000 years of pain if used incorrectly. And be a bitch to clean up ^^;;
Funnily enough, I let my friend who’s also into mechas and loves the GFF line as much as I, build the figure for me since I was busy at the time. Also, I figured he would have gotten more joy out of assembling it than I ever could.
The sad thing is it took about 2 hours to complete.
Yes, with the cannon attached the figure is almost as wide as my 37″ screen!
This would so PWN anything from Gundam SEED/Gundam SEED Destiny.
… as long as Kou Uraki wasn’t piloting.
Which reminds me, the same friend and I watched a bit of Gundam 0083 on the new monitor via PS3 and it’s awesome option to upscale to 1080p. We couldn’t have been more impressed as we were actually able to read background screen text that we never noticed beforehand. Crazy.
Also, Gundam 0083 stilled rocked as much as it did back then when we initially saw it. Goes to show how great 90s anime were considering how the series is over 10 years old. Ah, how I miss having a good Gundam series to watch.

Just go to tj_han’s review. You all should know by now how horrible I am at taking photos and discussing the finer points of figure greatness. All I can say is I bought it; is that a good enough indication of how much I like the figure/character?
Max Factory’s Asahina Mikuru from Haruhi.
Once again I’ll be pointing to other individuals with better photography skills than I’ll ever possess. See tj_han and TASTE for the lowdown.
If I was smart (and had extra cash), I would bought another Mikuru just in case. Especially now that I read about how Mikuru is basically a cast-off with some tweaking involved. Not that I’m into that kind of stuff but it’s a nice surprise “option” to have for those adventurous enough. See Shingo’s post for more detail information about this “option” and what damage one may do to their Mikuru.
On the figure itself, overall I’m pretty impressed as the quality is as excellent as MaxFactory’s Haruhi one released a few months ago. I’m actually enjoying Mikuru’s figure a bit more than Haruhi, mostly because I feel Mikuru’s pose is a bit more dynamic than Haruhi’s. Really the only two complaints I have on the figure are the issue of leaning due to her being supported only by one leg pegged in and her facial sculpt being a little “off”. The former is always an issue with any type of dynamic posed figure while the later is just personal opinion, so take them as such. Really there is no reason anyone that is a fan of the series or of cute maid costumed females should not get the figure… other than it being out of stock 
Now only one left is Yuki, which should be released in the next month or two. Would be great if I can find someplace to put all these figures in the meantime ^^;;
Yes, I got all of the above goodies when TRSI delivered Haruhi v1 LE. They just love me that much.
Kidding of course. The right side are all the R2 Haruhi DVDs including v0 that many losers unfortunate souls do not have. Left side are 90% of all the Haruhi audio CDs released minus any radio dramas, the ED, and drama CD. Thankfully the R1 v1 LE release fixed the issue of me not having the ED single CD 
An explosion of crap All the goodies included with Bandai’s release of Haruhi v1 LE. Honestly considering how late I am in putting my post up about the DVD, there are already a bunch of reviews out by better folks… which I’m too lazy to find but if one hits animenano, they’ll be there.
Now if I wanted to a dick, I could talk about how drool worthing watching Haruhi in 1080p on the 37″ is or even post a video about it but I won’t. Too lazy for that. The only additional comment I can make which off-bat I haven’t really read anywhere, then again I haven’t read that many reviews for the R1 DVD, is the inclusion of the “Making of Haruhi” aka “Let’s Stalk Follow Aya-chan!” videos subbed. Yep, all those posts made over at zero thoughts screenshot-ing and reviewing the various bonus videos are finally subbed! I know Tsukabi would be overjoyed if he could get a copy, if not for the fact Singapore went all lock-down on the anime community or something. Silly Singapore.
Overall though, not a bad package though a bit pricey if one bought it at retail or at whim. So is it really worth getting the LE though? If one can get it at a decent price, has some money to burn, or absolutely loves the series then my answer would be hell yea. The amount of extras included in this box is crazy and one can tell Bandai put a lot of work into it; personally this is the only R1 package I own that has so much crap to it! I’ll admit some of the goodies, like Haruhi’s hair ribbon is kind of useless for most folks (i.e. males), but a nice collector’s box plus the ED CD single help to push this release into one of the best ones I’ve see in recent times, if not the best so far.
And to answer someone’s comment, yes I do wear the Haruhi hair ribbon accessory… every other weekend for my cross-dressing phase ala Minoru Shiraishi

Funny how we always end up spending more even though we are flat broke. I tend to do that a lot and each week I get paid, most of it goes to paying for the orders that I have. Luckily I have obtained the skills of eating on bare minimum through my years of uni!

damn Moy, that is some seriously amped up spending. i just shipping out two boxes of anime this morning with like 100 disks inside. my room is looking so empty, really starting to miss the hobby
that second Haruhi fig looks amazing. i like seeing the two posed together. Bandai’s release of the series looks amazing as well, that box is gonna be even more sought after the series takes of here in America.

Saw the dendrobium gundam once, it’s freaking huge. Mikuru looks nice as well. Does the yellow ribbon is included with the Haruhi dvd? And btw Moy, i have to ask, do you feel tempted wearing the yellow ribbon ? XD

lanie-emon, yep GP03 is sweet, period. Mikuru is also fine as well. And yes, the ribbon is included in the LE release of v1 of the series.

I have to agree with you on Mikuru’s face sculpt. i’ve read a few reviews of the figure and many were impressed with the overall sculpt, but the face is a little off for me. well, like you said, it prolly is entirely up to ones own opinion @@
