Gotouza-sama’s Lucky Channel
It only took Kyoto Animation 23 episodes, but they’ve finally gotten the 5 main seiyuus from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya to cameo on Lucky Star in some way, shape, or form! And all I can say is they definitely ended(?) the cameo stunts with a bang with Yuko Goto owning the last few minutes of the episode!
Animated Biker Gang Gotouza-sama FTW!
Honestly, I couldn’t stop laughing my arse off once I realized it was Yuko Goto voicing the biker gang female. The sum of Lucky Star episode 23′s Lucky Channel basically had the producer(s) calling on Gotouza-sama to get Akira Kogami and Minoru Shiraishi to get their act together… even if it involved some “tough love” from her
Kyoto Animation really knows how to pull out the stops and getting all 5 members of the SOS-Dan should definitely have the fans overjoyed (and fanboy-ing like crazy as I am). If I had to rank the 5 seiyuu’s cameos in Lucky Star from favorite to least:
- Yuko Goto – Biker Gang Gotouza-sama? That’s just frickin’ pure awesomeness! Plus hearing her use a voice styling 180 degrees different from her usual roles is always a nice treat. Also have to give props for her (randomly) voicing the sound effects of her bike as she left riding off!
- Daisuke Ono – Even though his cameos were short, the way KyoAni animated him plus Daisuke’s unique playboy-ish manner of talk was hilarious to watch and listen to. Plus him and Minoru making jabs at each other during Lucky Channel was funny as well.
- Tomokazu Sugita – I don’t think he’s actually been animated in Lucky Star‘s style, unless you count the random customer at the cosplay cafe Konata and Patty works at, but his cameo as Clerk Sugita was still great to watch. Nothing better than having to pimp your own character’s goods as yourself right?
- Minori Chihara / Aya Hirano – tied because while they were LS’ed, they didn’t really have any lines as themselves. Still worth noting, however
I don’t know if KyoAni plans to try to get any more of the seiyuus from Haruhi but if they do, more props to them. Personally, I’m hoping for either Yuki Matsuoka (Tsuruya-san) or Natsuko Kuwatani (Ryoko Asakura) if anyone else.
And before I forget, beside the greatness that is Gotouza-sama, Minami’s scenes pretty much made the episode this week. If only Miyuki’s mother didn’t see Minami during all her “weak” point moments! XD

“…while they were LS’ed…”
Is that anything like getting Geassed?
Yeah I’m looking forward to a Tsuruya cameo too, though it’s unlikely with just one episode left.
lol, i gotta check this show out, it looks bizarre XD
Well I got my wish. Tsuruya’s seiyuu Yuki Matsuoka came on in the last episode, but not as herself. Still, the character she portrayed was hilarious.
Orion, LOL sure why not? hehe
Unknownymous, WTF that is Yuki Matsuoka voicing that random character towards the end (with Akira and Minoru)?! If so, whoa couldn’t even pick up any hint of her usual vocal range.
Zanza, yea Lucky Star is hit or miss per episode. Overall it wasn’t a bad show but not *the* show of the season.
Actually, Chihara Minori appears in a one-line scene in the Comiket episode, immediately before Clerk Sugita and Tenchou get into that heated argument…
Aya Hirano appears as herself in the episode where the LS girls go to the Gekisou concert.
Yuko Goto is really a biker, ya know…
just believe it. search in wikipedia if ya don’t believe me
