My life is still incomplete

damn you and your autograph. i’m guessing you didn’t have to wait for an autograph as long as people at AX did for SOS-dan’s…which spanned around 10 hours spread over 2 days for me. and in the end, i still didn’t get it. but yeah, AX was kind of a disaster. you should be kinda glad you didn’t go, although some parts of it were enjoyable.

Co-sign on the SOS-dan autograph session. I was there. Since 6am the first day and since 5am the second day. Was 15 people from the door when they wrapped up. The amount of people cutting in the first part of the line was disgusting.

After still having AX fresh in my mind this is what I can say of Otakon:

Its smaller, doesn’t has as many things to do, not as many guests, smaller dealer’s room, not as much cosplay, it still has its usual crowd control problems when it comes to the panel rooms, and you can say all you want, but it sure doesn’t has all the frustrations that AX made us go thru this year.

In AX it has become impossible to get as close to a guest like Alex and I did yesterday with Noto Mamiko. And unlike there is a very special case like Range Murata (he is the most open guest ever), it will remain impossible in the future.

I kept looking for you all weekend! How did we not see each other?

Many Japanese fans would kill for the opportunity for a two-shot with their favourite seiyuu, these kinds of opportunity never arises domestically in Japan.

wackedfoo, sucks about AX and the SOS-dan. I read a few forums and blogs about that disaster, and I definitely felt sorry for everyone involved. Honestly for Mamiko Noto, she must not be *that* popular in the US (yet) as Jabel and I had plenty of time to line up and still score “guaranteed” passes to get her signature. I think Seki’s Q&A panel, among some other guests’, being at the same time probably had some influences as well. Not that any Mamiko Noto fans were complaining
