WAVE Kousaka Tamaki – Side Dish Included!

24 hours, 2 weeks… same difference right? I apologize for the lateness in the review but the past and next couple of weeks are going to be hectic because of work, thus leaving me very little time to do anything for this blog. Hopefully by the beginning of November things will cool down but for now, expect my already sporadic posting to be even more so. Sorry!
If there’s one thing I can say about WAVE’s Kousaka Tamaki from To Heart 2, it would have to be it definitely has one unique type of packaging for it. I don’t have any photos of the box Tamaki came in posted here, but it has to be one of the flattest box I’ve ever received a figure in!

Overhead shot of Tamaki. I swear looking at this photo it felt like looking at food being served on a platter. Well that or some ero image of a female about to be er… “served” ^^;;
I think I was trying to get a full view shot of Tamaki at eye level. Honestly I’m not much of an ass man, but I have to admit WAVE did a mighty fine job as the curves look great in all the right places.
Close facial shot. Yes I will forever suck at photography given my general laziness and impatience to take and/or clean up photos, but I thought this shot looked pretty decent with how the base reflected Tamaki’s image all mirror like.
Showing actual muscle/body lines is always a nice treat.
I either was going for a shot of Tamaki’s long flowing hair or ass.. don’t remember which ^^;;
Glimpses of under boob FTW!
Pretty much held the figure up in midair while taking this shot. Nice to see WAVE still did some detailing on Tamaki’s face and fingers but the paint job really went downhill for the bikini. Maybe because they knew this side would receive the most “damage”, WAVE opted from doing too much details to save on cost?
Bad paint jobs and squished boobs FTW?
WAVE’s Kousaka Tamaki is definitely in a league of its own, if anything due to the unique and dynamic pose that I haven’t really seen anywhere else. Really the only marks I can find against this lovely figure are the paint job and pose. The overall paint job is actually pretty decent but goes south on 90% of the bikini. And while not bad or anything, is noticeable since it is one of the few places where there is a splash of color. Beside the less than stellar bikini paint job, the pose really presents some major issues: space and visibility. Tamaki just takes up too much horizontal space! And for figure collectors with limited shelfing room like myself, it is really hard to find some place to display her. Also since Tamaki is a “low” figure, one really needs to display her at eye level or higher to truly enjoy the full view otherwise one will just be looking at a body with flowing hair and no face. Kind of a killer for figure collectors that like to enjoy the best angle(s) of their collection.
Even with the above issues, I would still recommend WAVE’s Tamaki to any fans of the character or females in swimsuits. She definitely stands out on her own and easily can become the centerpiece for any budding or veteran figure collector looking to add more to their own… as long as they have enough room to display Tama-nee ^^;; And honestly to truly show off the figure, Tama-nee needs all the room she can get

Ah, she’s gorgeous! I was thinking of ordering Tama-nee too but her super stability pose doesn’t quite fit the rest of my collection. Looking forward to your write-up.

That’s a real cool figure, if your review is up make sure the name the figure so I can find a decent spot to get this. I think the second shot on row is the greatest. Very dynamic , good angle and level.
The fig looks nice but there’s only one thing that I don’t like…her mouth…or should i say lack of mouth. don’t really dig the position of her hand but tama-nee sprawling like that is yum.
Wow that’s pretty hot. I love the way she’s gazing out with her fingers near her mouth.

Zyl, tis a good figure but is *very* different from the usual norm we’re used to. Had this figure for over 2 weeks and still can’t find a place to put her =/

R8, yea I can see where you’re coming from. I think it is more of an issue with her hand getting in the way, but if you look hard enough she has a mouth… sorta…
super rats, yep definitely one of the nicer poses I’ve seen in recent figure releases.
kyouray, personally I like the one with Tama-nee holding a basketball I’ve seen pictured at various conventions. I just wish there was a general public release for it!

I get tired of Asian and Japanese girls trying to look Caucasain with the white make-up and hair-coloring– they’re 100x more beautiful naturally, and the whole “Westernization” thing totally desecrates the beautify of Japanese culture too, trading in kimonos for blue-jeans etc.
