Building a Kotatsu
Living downstairs has it’s advantages but one of them is not heat, which my old room had in spades. In that avenue, I’ve decided to “build” a cheap kotatsu for myself. Already ordered a few of the items I’ll need and will buy the rest next weekend when I’m free.
So hopefully in about two weeks time, I’ll have a nice little kotatsu to keep me semi-warm. More details, what I bought, tutorials, etc once everything is completed. I don’t want to look like an idiot before its 100% complete

Building a kotatsu, that’s different. I live on a second floor apartment, so my downstairs neighbor heats both his and my apartment.^^
Oh good idea ! kotatsu is very practical in winter specially to study : to work on a desk is uncomfortable and in a bed is impossible (you nod off very quickly :p). Good luck, I am waiting too the result and tutorial.
I’d actually be interested in this – I could integrate it into my work table whenever the a/c gets a bit too cold.
I heat my own room up with my consoles and PC along with my body heat :p it works!!
A kotatsu. Why do I see images of Love Hina running trough my mind and imagining all the fun stuff one could do if you had female company over for a “study session”?

Anyway, hope you have fun building it. If you make it yourself, half of the fun is building it.
I had this notion a while back, but I never found a place to put one, and nobody understood the benefit of it… I live in FL, … all I wanted to do was fall asleep under it in the mild winter season
