Momotato! Come Back!

Inspired by the always interesting Omo, I’m doing my duty as a fellow anime blogger and reader of Momotato Daioh to try to (hopelessly) get him back to the world of anime blogging. Probably too “old” for the “young’ins” but man, Momotato was easily one of the top tier anime blogger back in the day.
He’s so good I still have yet to see anyone match or mimic his style of blogging which, if I remember correctly, involved 2-4 screenshots and 1-3 sentences perfectly (and often hilariously) summarizing the given episode in question. Like I wrote in Omo’s comment section, Momotato was one of the few blogs back in the day (3-4 years ago) that I would consistently check to meet my daily requirement of anime blogging goodness. I know I definitely would have missed some great series if it wasn’t for his unique style of blogging and one of a kind insights into anime.
So yea… MOMOTATO-SENPAI! COME BACK!

The Momotato style is indeed formidable much admired but not much emulated since it is so difficult to do well: ‘I would have written a shorter letter, but I did not have the time.’ (Blaise Pascal)
I’d also like to plead for the return of Moetry. The memo site disappeared sometime in Dec, now how am I going to know which hentai anime are worth watching? T_T

Huzzah! Thanks, Sabas!
Since I’ve outed myself as a hentai watcher, I’d just like to say that Bible Black is my favourite H series. orz

Wow…Momotato Daioh was the first anime blog I visited, even before I even try to think about writing about series or anything from Japan.
If he comes back it would be awesome!

Momotato was also my favorite blog. He only does the once a year thing currently. Now the only one I really read is Anime on My Mind (or Derailed by Darry, for now).

Momotato was I believe the first anime blog I found back when my anime watching was in its infancy, and my god did it rock. Don’t think I ever disliked a series he liked either so was great for knowing what things I’d like to see too! I still check it every couple of weeks in the hope of something
(even reread the whole archives twice since he quit, lol)

I’m only 11. But when I was 9, me and my sister ordered Yotsuba vol. 1 from Scholastic. They told us they would sell us more, but no they did not! We don’t have a bookstore anywhere near our place, so we consulted fan-translated scans.
We came across koiwai.biz and for the first few volumes, it was good. Momotato was the translator and he left notes, preserved jokes… he was amazing.
Only today, I realized the translation sucked. It wasn’t the same translator. So I ventured away from the little website and Googled Momotato to see if he had his own domain. I couldn’t find anything. Anything but you.
Momotato. Come back.
