NYAF – Off to a Start

9/26/2008

Well finally here at NYAF currently chilling with Omo in a panel room waiting for Opening Ceremony to start. As you may have noticed, already scored the ticket for Yoshitaka Amano’s autograph session which I’m very happy about; only “bad” thing is waiting until 6:30PM as there is not much to do beforehand.

Scored some random free stuff as is the norm with anime conventions but nothing worth writing home about. Actually, I’m surprised how small NYAF is as I was expecting something similar to Otakon, especially since it’s being held in the Javits Center. Surprisingly, NYAF only takes up the first floor whereas thought it would at least take two floors. Not bad as I guess they put more of their money into the guests… which again I’m not complaining about :)

Only been about a hour since the convention started so nothing else to really talk about other than my interesting walk from the PATH station on 33rd Street to the Javits Center on 34th Street. I think Omo put it best when he saw me and said, “you look dead tired.” Did some mighty sweating on the way here with all my stuff (went straight to the convention from home) but actually feel better than I look(?); only took about 20ish minutes to walk which while isn’t bad, is not something I want to do while carrying all my crap if possible ^^;;
