Why Gintama is Awesome

1/12/2008

I rarely talk about the anime I watch nowadays beside what DVD I may have bought, but when I do you know it has to be (probably) something worth watching. With that being said, I still cannot believe how entertaining Gintama is after 80+ episodes where as most other series of similar length would be in filler land by now. This previous week’s episode, episode 88, easily exemplifies what makes Gintama so great with the inclusion of the male Tower of Babel, rock-rapping, group dating, goth-lolita clothing, and more!

Update: Sorry, yet another blog entry that will never be completed due to laziness!

    Which episodes are those from?

Katsura and Elizabeth are quite awesome.

  2. DS on 1/12/2008 at 2:30 am

    Is this pandering to tj_han?

But I would like to watch this series sometime.

  3. Karry on 1/12/2008 at 2:38 am

And ? Why exactly is this piece of shit awesome ?

  4. rev on 1/12/2008 at 5:44 am

    @Karry

ah, you should just watch it… its getting beyond 70 episodes and its getting crazier

  5. tj han on 1/12/2008 at 5:58 am

People who don’t think Gintama is awesome are either really stupid or just really really stupid. Right Karry? How are those hamburgers coming along?

  6. Totali on 1/12/2008 at 12:06 pm

I’ve only heard tj rant and rave about this in IRC…..but I still haven’t been able to get past the first few episodes.

Karry, apparently you fall to the latter, meaning you are really really stupid for posting an idiotic comment which contributes nothing at all to Gintama ^^.

    Screencap OVERDRIVE!!!

Ahh.. reminds me of the good old days of waiting 5 minutes for your blog to load on 56k. :D

And yeah, Gintama is pretty awesome, but the subs need to catch up. Really.

  9. Dancing Queen on 1/14/2008 at 2:40 am

i love gintama, but there is almost no love for it among subbing groups. this is episode 88? there are only subs for like episode 44 out. It’s an awesome show, and it deserves so much more attention that it gets.

  10. Helix on 1/20/2008 at 11:09 am

I guess I’m lucky to have chinese subs to count on.

  11. akurashy on 1/23/2008 at 1:57 pm

ahh the nonstop awesomeness of gintama… i needs more more!

I’ve been checking out the manga… but it seems I need to grab the anime A.S.A.P…

  12. Spyhunter on 2/2/2008 at 5:15 pm

Seems like this is hard to find a fansubbed torrent for :(

Yeah so Moyism…hows that new job working out for you. Does it pay well, is it salary or hour, and how much? I’m on a mission to increase pay in IT support world wide.

    wp, episode 88.

    DS, meh sure why not?

Karry, I agree with what rev and tj said :P

    wildarmsheero, good catch.

Totali, Gintama has a slow start but once it gets into the teen episodes, it’s all good from there. You should really give the series (anime or/and manga) a try if you have time.

Kurogane, yea the “good old days” of crazy screen capping! And definitely in agreement about the subs needing to catch up XD

Dancing Queen, yep but at least *some group* is subbing it… albeit slowly as hell IMHO

    Helix, nice!

akurashy, if you love the manga you’ll definitely love the anime as well (but as been noted by others, the initial eps do start out slow)

    Spyhunter, yea since the only fansub group currently doing it (Rumbel) is at ep 49 while this is ep 88 ^^;;

Avs, see my next post but overall not too bad. I don’t know how much you would consider “well” in terms of money but I guess it’s alright.
