New Scanner, Less Complaining?

5/15/2009

So I went out and picked up a Epson Perfection v500 photo flatbed scanner ’cause folks complained too much about my crappy scanning (and scanner) abilities. Put down a bit more dough than I wanted but overall looks to be a good investment. Just doing auto scanning already gives way better colors and less “scan lines” than my old Canon LIDE 100 scanner did. Obviously still not image perfect but I think the epson will serve me well for now ^^

Three more scans after the break; check my other post to see the difference in scan quality if you’re bored and have cable or better (I apologize for anyone looking at my site via DSL/T1 or even worse, dial-up).

….LOL I’m sorry for always complaining on your scans, but yeah it’s much better now, prob you want to play with the settings for the best results, but Seigura/Animedia papers are not as good as Pick-up Voice.. anyway lol I’m sorry.

The main problem with the scans are the moire patterns. You will probably need an image manipulation program to fix it.

Actually, if scan quality is your issue, you should scan at a size greater than 300DPI, and then size down. New scanners are set to scan at higher resolutions, so their 300DPI settings are not as good as they used to be (though much faster).
