Seeing Double… or is it Triple?

2/25/2009

Nothing like seeing three Minorins at the same time right? Yep, I finally broke down and ordered two Dell S2409W 24″ Widescreen LCDs all so I could ogle 2D & 3D females alike be more “productive” when the need arises.

So how is it with three (well technically four if you count my plasma as well) monitors? Insane, if anything ^^;;

Nothing like watching three separate videos at the same time! +5 for those that can name what I’m watching.

A little clearer to see and as one may notice, the S2409W are not height adjustable which is kind of a pain as it puts things off balance. Also noticed that my 2+ old year Dell 24″ still has better and more vibrant color than them, although I should note that my old 24″ is a higher end model. Either way, still pretty insane having three monitors at once and I doubt my eyes could handle it all so…

… I eventually decided on two, which in all honesty was what I was going to do anyways since I wanted the monitors to match ^^ It was nice having the max three to four outputs though for the few minutes I did the setup, but just couldn’t see myself needing THAT much desktop space (and wasting a lot of physical space instead).

As for my old monitor, not 100% sure what I’ll do with it. I could probably sell it and still make a decent penny but it’s always nice to have a spare monitor laying around. Plus if I get attempted, I could do all three… so…

Stupid ideas and possible further vision lost aside, what all my screens currently look like; different wallpapers thanks to DisplayFusion. And changing wallpapers just got a lot more interesting since I’ll now have to be on the lookout for three new ones every time the mood strikes… man, that’s going to be annoying ^^;;

    I’m running two monitors at home. I wish I could run three but alas the lack of deskspace is what holds me back.

    I only recognise the Animelo TBS special on the left and the right and Nana-chan’s Trickster PV on the right. XD

    You’re nuts.

    Your videos are too easy. I see Animelo 2008 Digest, Itou Yuna’s trust you PV, and of course, Nana’s Trickster PV with subs. I can even name the second you captured too. :P

    If you are into pc gaming and want to put all of your screens to good use.

    Very nice but is it really useful ? :p Two screens are practical but to have three seems to be a bit too much and greedy :p

    I just have one puny 19″ AOC monitor. Two monitors for me is overkill, while three is financial suicide @_@

    Good god.

    Double monitors? A necessity.

    Three? I dunno if I could handle it.

    I´ve been thinking about getting a 24″ screen for a long time, giving my 19″ to either my mom or dad.

    But to have three/four monitors you have to have 2 graphics cards right? or am I so wrong it can´t be said enough in this matter?

    Or I could just get a big ass monitor to use for a TV with my PS3 and other consoles as well as being a screen.

    I don´t know which direction I should take everything. Feels like I need either a 24″ monitor or a bigger monitor to work as a TV as well.

    Got any suggestions in what direction I should move?

    Omg! Aya is in your TV !
    Need sauce for that pic :D She looks way too yumyum..

    Adun, yep two monitors really are the way to go if you’re doing a lot of work on the PC (coding, remote work, etc). And as much as three monitors were pretty cool even *I* think that’s a bit overkill ^^;;

    houkoholic, er… +3.5 for you?

    danie~, LOL that’s scary and +7 for saying you can even tell the time frame of each video…

    Segya, cool thanks for the link. Never heard of the program but definitely worth looking into if I have enough free time!

    kyouray, yea it is but I just had to see how it *would* look if I went that route XD

    Zeroblade, well it was only financial “suicide” for me to get two which thankfully I got an decent deal buying them through my company :D

    totali, maybe if I get a third S2409W to match otherwise I can’t see myself using my old Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP since they don’t match! lol

    manga, yes that’s correct. I have two video cards with dual outs (Geforce 9800GTX+ and 7600 GT). And I’ve done both. I mean if you have the money, I would go for one big monitor for TV and gaming and a decent sized lcd for your PC. Otherwise I would recommend a 24-30″ LCD with multiple inputs for all your needs.

    ayaaaa, ask and ye shall receive! Enjoy!

    Thanks for the tip. Need to decide. Which is a real pain in the behind for me.

    I need to ask as well for recomendations for a 30″ monitor with multiple inputs :p Yeah I´m lazy but it would be nice to see what someone would recomend.

    the way you spend money on screens… you’re a sick, sick man. and I want your money.

    now you need to grow more eyes :D

    What graphics card are you using? I know the Sapphire 4850 X2 can output to 4 DVI displays at once.
    For multimonitor goodness, I prefer Eizo monitors. The thin bezel and the overall professional, consistent look that just oozes from multimonitor setups is amplified with any black Eizo widescreen monitor, although they are very expensive.

    Aren’t you supposed to be broke? Why on earth would you buy a third (or fourth) monitor?

  16. manga on 3/19/2009 at 6:15 pm

    I suffered since the last entry here. But today I made the descision to get something…

    Hopefully a post will be up about what the comming week. Images at least.

    Or I can just spill it. As I said I wanted a new monitor for my computer, but I´ve also wanted a new TV…

    Result?

    40″ Samsung FullHD TV and a Samsung Syncmaster 24″…

    now all I need to do is wait for them to come home :)
