Super A&G + New Years Eve Special

What do you get when you combine the personalities of Mitsuo Iwata, Rina Satou, and Ayumi Fujimura into four hours of radio listening? Super A&G + New Years Eve Special of course!

Nowhere as epic as Tomoko Kaneda singing Perfume’s “Polyrhythm”, this (last?) year’s radio special is a must watch/listen for seiyuu fans alike. Just like other standard radio shows, there’s listener mail, misc anime related songs, host banter, games, and the usual on-goings for the new year. What really makes this special worth the four hour sit through however, is all the special guests that drop by and/or get randomly called. And I’m talking about some A ranked veteran seiyuus like Tomokazu Seki, Jun Fukuyama, and Marina Inoue to name a few.

Read more after the jump as I try to highlight some of the more entertaining parts of the special. Be warned, my Japanese is total crap, the screenshots are from horrible nico nico quality sources, and there’s just no way I’m covering every bit and piece of the four hour special. My brain would be fried if I tried!

Random Guest Calling #1
First up on the list, the great Tomokazu Seki himself. Pretty hilarious as he picks up the phone with some crazy deep rough voice joking around right off the bat. Him and Mitsuo start talking about Group Dating and Mitsuo trying to get him to come to one now which eventually turns into asking if he can drop by the radio studio. And to the surprise of all, he’s like right there I believe due to the new years festivities… so one guest GET!

Next up, the great lady whom made soba for them (Rina Satou?) that they’ve been eating throughout the show, Miki Itou. All three praise Miki for her delicious soba etc and try to get her to drop by… only to be disappointed by the fact she’s apparently in Paris? Not 100% positive about this but she couldn’t make it however she promises to drop by for next year’s. So not a total lost, I guess.

I believe the next seiyuu they call up is Kouichi Yamadera but I had a bit of trouble hearing this part. In any case, there’s the usual friendly banter and wishing for the new years including talking about (I assume) NHK’s Kouhaku Uta Gassen. When Mitsuo starts to ask for a favor, Kouichi (or Yama-chan as Mitsuo calls him) humorously flatly refuses him… after a bit of joking around, they do ask if he can drop by but like others in Japan, Yama-chan is back at home. There’s some pimping of something Yama-chan is gonna be in afterward but otherwise no go with him either.

For their final attempt, Mitsuo tries up Daisuke Ono. There’s some great BL-ish Mitsuo/Daisuke banter as the two joke around but when the ultimate question comes up if he can drop by, Daisuke says he’s busy cleaning up his place. Mitsuo and the others try to convince him but Daisuke is like dead set on finishing up yearly cleaning… so LOL.

Random Guests Arrive #1
Both Mai Goto and Tomokazu Seki arrive at the studios roughly at the same time. Mai I believe was in the area earlier due to another A&G produced radio show that was recording a little early as Mitsuo, Rina, and Ayumi dropped by that show as well.

Seems Tomokazu arrived with steamers etc including being a bit sick with a ferver LOL. It’s also around this time that they ring in the new year so yea, Tomokazu has helleva good timing ^^;;

Random Guest Calling #2
The second round of seiyuu calling start with Ayumi calling up Ryoko Shiraishi… except she doesn’t pick up.

So instead they try Daisuke Namikawa whom also called in during AT-X’s New Year special actually recording the same time as this one (more on this a bit later). Seems when they called him, he was asleep and I believe slept through the new year. There’s some random convo with Daisuke and Tomokazu with the later mentioning he’s sick and about gaining weight (and shiitting it later…?). Mitsuo eventually ask if Daisuke can drop by to which he’s understandably surprised (sounds like he’s still half-asleep) but after hearing there’s some cute sounding girls there he’ll get there as soon as possible (well sounded like he was going to go anyways but lol yea)

Right after this, Ryoko calls them back and the usual new year banter goes on including Tomokazu lying who he is (LOL). The group (well specifically Ayumi) ask if Ryoko can go a “date” right now (aka drop by) but seems she’s back at home in Gifu? There’s some joking about not hearing about the radio show but NHK at least being there? Anyway no go for Ryoko (rats!).

Continuing the line up, Mitsuo calls Jun Fukuyama (aka JunJun). Out of all the seiyuus they’ve called, JunJun definitely sounded the most energtic especially given the time. They ask if Jun can come but he’s back at home(?) although they try to get him to come saying there’s a bunch of girls there as well. Well don’t know if that did it but Jun eventually says he’ll come (had a feeling he would have dropped by anyway).

Marina Inoue was suppose to be next but apparently they got disconnected… but eventually they get Marina. Usual round of introductions etc goes around including Tomokazu trying to remember when/if he met Marina in the past (they did). Unfortunately when the big question comes, Marina as well denies the request.

With little luck with the women, Rina calls up Tomokazu Sugita. All I can say is it’s all typical Tomokazu Sugita-ish conversation and when they ask if he can drop by the studio, he says he’s at the public baths(?). The guys try to get Sugita to come but he basically avoids the question saying he in the bath now LOL and eventually they let him off… although Mitsuo does make the comment about being rejected rather quickly or something.

And continuing on with another Gintama seiyuu, Mitsuo calls up Kenichi Suzumura… who’s obviously drunk! Even drunk, Mitsuo still ask if he can come but just like the ladies they’ve been calling, he’s back at home a bit far from them. There’s still introductions of the cute girls there plus Tomokazu trying to sound like a girl, but Kenichi knows right away (there’s some funny comment that’s above me). A bit more of random talking but he’s out for the count.

Speaking of drinking, last but not least Hitomi Nabatame calls in as well. Usual intros abound including a lot of joking it seems (this part was a bit hard to hear due to the sound quality) but when the time comes yet again, Hitomi back at home as well. Some joking about her hometown to try to get Hitomi to come but yea, no luck at all.

There’s a bit after where Rina and the others make mention for the girls, it’s a bit difficult for them to try to come alone to the studios versus the misc guys that said they would. Mituso makes a nice little joke that if it was just him and Tomokazu, they could easily get women to come!

Palm Reading
Over hotpot, the group get their palms read. Not even going to try to go through all the seiyuus but I will have to say that Rina Satou has the BEST reading out of all of them; first thing the palm reader says is she’s a mega hentai (pervert)! This ends up being a running joke for the night, obviously

Guys VS Girls Games + Random Guests Arrive #2
Three games between the girls and guys with prizes for the winners and a punishment game for the losers

First game, from what I could understand is basically a “fill in the blank” type of game with words. Of course, simply just filling in the blank with words drawn on a board wouldn’t be fun so the person selecting the word is blindfolded while everyone else (both girls and guys) try to tell the person where to point to. I wish I could explain the game better but it’s easier to watch as whatever phrase/word they were trying to fill in was beyond my crappy understanding. At the end, it was the girls with 1 correct while the guys got nothing right ^^;;

Before the second game starts, Jun Fukuyama arrives! Mitsuo and co bring Jun up to date and JunJun is all ready to play the second game… which involves throwing slippers at this random guy (probably a staffer) from a certain distance within a set time limit. Yes, you read that correctly; seiyuus are throwing slippers at some random guy (whom supposedly from American but looks pretty Akiba-kei to everyone LOL).

First up is the guys team with JunJun going at it pretty seriously. Great stuff.

Next up is Hentai Rina. Unlike with the guys, the random dude basically takes anything Rina throws at him easily giving the girls the lead in points.

Due to time, both Mitsuo and Tomokazu go together basically throwing everything they can at the random dude. When the two run out of slippers to throw at him, they go after the slippers already thrown and start throwing them at him at like point blank range. Funny stuff.

Finally Ayumi and Mai go up… and the random dude moves even closer so they can hit him easier LOL. So obviously the girls have the advantage and eventually win… ^^;;

Right before the last game, sleepy head Daisuke Namikawa finally makes his entrance. And the final game, Imaginative Baseball which basically comes down to playing rock-paper-scissors. Loser has to strip but since the girls can’t actually strip, they’ll use a doll to do the stripping with the girls doing an ero-ish voice as if they were. The guys, well they do it since they’re layered up pretty well.

First to go, Daisuke versus Rina. Rina seems pretty fired up about it making sure Daisuke will do it seriously… and unluckily for Daisuke, he loses and already has to strip (which he complains about much to everyone’s amusement).

Next is Jun versus Mai… with Jun getting the guys a win! You really have to watch/listen to this part as I was laughing way too hard and it’s really hard to explain. The doll stripping will have to do until you can see the video ^^;;

Mitsuo versus Ayumi top the third round with Mitsuo pretty hyped… and already stripping before they even play! Old man Mitsuo unfortunately loses, but his stripping was entertaining nonetheless.

Next round Tomokazu versus Rina, with Tomokazu asking if he loses to not have the camera pointed at him as it’ll be dangerous haha. Thankfully he eventually wins with Rina voicing stripping off her pants/panties? Once again I was laughing way too hard (as was everyone else) when watching the doll being stripped.

For the final round, its Mitsuo versus… the old man staffer! Given Mitsuo’s luck, well one can probably guess what happened ^^;; Mitsuo only makes it worse by trying to strip his pant where they actually had to cut out random scenes that were going beyond PG -_-;;

On to the winners and losers. Losers first, which end up being the guys whom had to tell gags you would never do in the seiyuu world? Most of them ended up just being perverted. Daisuke went first and was mid-way in the joke but just couldn’t keep it up and started to crack. Tomokazu goes up instead and goes with a milking gag with the chest (since it’s the year of the Ox). Next Mitsuo goes with Daisuke as an assistant saying it’s a gag/greeting for the male seiyuus… and grabs his crotch greeting him WTF. Daisuke goes again and along the lines of Mitsuo, feels up Jun as the way male seiyuu greet each other; afterward Jun said it should have been lower WTFx2. Last but not least, Jun goes with his gag… of putting the mic in his pant WTFx5!

For the winners, well they get random head gear like nekomimi and bunny ears ^^;;

Random Guests Arrive #3
Coming straight from the AT-X Seiyuu New Years Special, both Showtaro Morikubo and Mai Nakahara join in for the festivities. Of course, Showtaro already had a bit to drink prior and is pretty tipsy throughout but that just makes the last hour of the special all the more entertaining.

Mitsuo Iwata the Cow
I think the title say all but yea, basically Mitsuo help entertain the random viewers they get after moving studios to one of the live ones. Not 100% sure what his “milk” is exactly but you just have to see it to believe it. The best, however, is how each of the remaining seiyuus go out and “milk” Mitsuo for a bit to drink. First up is Daisuke… poor man, he seems to be Mitsuo’s sidekick whether he likes it or not! Eventually Daisuke goes to drink directly saying the “milk” was the “best”. Mai Goto goes up next and mentions it’s big with the “milk” coming out easily enough in the cup. The other Mai, Mai Nakahara tries her luck easily “milking” Mitsuo without issue. Showtaro should really be called Show-off as he throws the cup out and goes straight to sucking Mistuo’s “milk” like a champ; Mitsuo making it all the more hilarious with the required FX to boot! Ayumi goes without much fanfare although there’s some banter that I couldn’t get. And finally, good old Rina does it with a bam sucking straight from Mitsuo making for some great ero shots!

There’s a bit I left out from the four hour special but honestly, I didn’t want to ruin everything if you’ve made it this far in the post (good job!). Sorry for the TL;DR hack job but hoping you all got the gist of the special. Overall I came in thinking this special was going to be crap but ended up enjoying it way more than I thought; I mean it’s not every day you get to see seiyuus “milking” each other right?

Seriously though, while the special is long (and god I had to go through it 2-3 times to write up this post and take screenshots) I think it’s totally worth it if you’re into seiyuus at all as it’s not everyday you get to see them make total fools of themselves Plus, if anything else, it’s always nice to put a face (and name) to a voice that you’ve enjoyed through the years.
