Roaming NYC
In what was one of my non-bumming weekends, I ended up adventuring to NYC on a whim all without spending money on anime related goods to boot!
To make a long story short, it all started with going out to eat at White Mana for lunch in Jersey City with some friends. Definitely a Jersey thing, but man oh man White Manna has some kickarse burgers! Personally I would recommend the one in Hackensack as the better of the two, but in either case both locations make some excellent cheap fresh burgers on the fly. Honestly it’s hard to describe without actually tasting them but all I can say is, if you’re ever in Northern Jersey and are looking for some cheap good eats, White Manna would be the place to go. Definitely unhealthy as hell but just so dang good for “fast food”!
After lunch, we were planning of just heading home but me being bored and needing something to do, we randomly decided to head to the city instead. With no real plans in mind, it really came down to RPG-style world map walking as we eventually ended up going to Kinokuniya and BookOff. One guess on who’s ideas they were
The new Kinokuniya I got to admit looks pretty nice and is a lot more spacious than before; doesn’t feel like I’ll accidentally bump into something/one when looking through stuff. Plus if anything else, one really can’t beat the art by Takehiko Inoue on the 2nd floor… very sweet! BookOff, on the other hand, wasn’t so hot. I guess cause the last time I went it wasn’t that busy but man, the 2nd floor where all the manga was killed with all the human heat. Walked out with a killer headache for a few hours after that but I guess if one wants cheap manga, it’s worth the pain? (Un)fortunately I ended up not getting anything but EXP for future reference? O_o
Beside visiting some Japanese bookstores, pretty much just roamed Chinatown as was our usual routine. Along the way ended up going to TenRen for some boba tea and Jamba Juice for more drinks. I have to admit the boba tea at TenRen was rather good, or at least better than some of the other places on Mott St that totally rip you off (or have crappy unique drinks like chocolate boba tea or strawberry cake milkshake. I kid you not). Jamba Juice was Jamba Juice although having it while it was a bit cold probably wasn’t the brightest of ideas ^^;;
So yea. Totally pointless entry other than that “I’m alive” and that I do get out every once in awhile LOL

Church of Moyism Hittin’ the Strip

For my 25th birthday, a bunch of friends and I are going to Las Vegas in November!
3 days of non-stop fun and possible crazy adventures await us all in less than a month! From what we have planned so far, there will be some gambling, go-carting, going to a shooting range, strip club(s), and seeing ”O” by Cirque Du Soleil. And the kicker? We’ve decided to go all out and have rented a Penthouse Suite at the Bellagio as well!
It’s going to be FRICKIN’ LENGENDARY!

I Can Die Happy Now
Back at the hotel taking a break after making some new friends and attending some kick arse panels. Specifically attended Mamiko Noto’s and Tomokazu Seki’s Q&A sessions. And yes, I got Mamiko Noto’s autograph!
Also finally met someone whom actually knows of me and got to give away my first “Church of Moyism” t-shirt. Unfortunately I did not catch the guy’s name but after talking with him for a bit, definitely know he reads my stuff (the poor soul). More details plus one or two photos after the jump.
